The things worth asking first
Do I need Canvas to use Ozyplan?
No. You can create courses yourself and upload syllabi, slides, notes or past papers, and every part of Ozyplan works the same way on them. Canvas Sync is the fastest route if your school uses Canvas — it is not the only one.
Does Ozyplan need my Canvas password?
No, and it never asks for one. Canvas Sync reads through the Canvas session already signed in on your own computer. Your school login, your password and any two-factor codes stay between you and your school — Ozyplan never sees them, and never signs in as you.
What can the extension actually see?
The coursework your own Canvas account can already open: your classes, their assignments and quizzes, due dates, rubrics, pages, announcements, the syllabus and course files. It cannot reach locked or unpublished material, quiz questions, teacher-only content, or another student's work — Canvas refuses those to you, so it refuses them to the extension. It works on the Canvas site you approve and on Ozyplan, not on the rest of your browsing.
Will Ozyplan submit or change anything in my Canvas?
No. Canvas Sync only ever reads. It does not submit assignments, post, comment, edit or delete anything, and it does not download your grades.
Which of my Canvas courses get imported?
This school year's academic classes. Before importing anything, Ozyplan asks Canvas a few structural questions about each enrolment — how many assignments it sets, whether they carry marks, when they were due, whether it publishes a syllabus — and imports the ones that behave like classes. Clubs, information portals and last year's courses stay out of your planner. Anything genuinely unclear is shown to you to decide rather than discarded.
What happens when a teacher posts something new?
With Ozyplan Pro, Canvas Sync keeps your coursework current on its own, so a rubric posted on Thursday is part of your plan on Thursday. Free accounts get one Canvas import — everything it brought in is yours to keep using, it simply stops updating itself.
Is Canvas Sync free?
The import is. A free account can connect Canvas once, bring in this year's classes and coursework, and use it. Keeping it continuously up to date — and having Ozyplan keep reading more of it in the background — is part of Pro.
What if my school runs Canvas on its own web address?
That works. Ozyplan reads whichever Canvas you are signed in to, and asks your permission for that specific address the first time. Schools do configure Canvas differently, though, so what is available can vary — Ozyplan imports what your account exposes and tells you what it set aside.
What if Canvas signs me out?
Nothing breaks and nothing is lost. Ozyplan notices, pauses syncing and says so. Sign in to Canvas the way you normally do and it picks up where it left off.
Do I need a particular browser?
Canvas Sync is a Chrome extension, so connecting Canvas needs Chrome on a computer. The rest of Ozyplan — your plan, briefings, forecasts, Study Packs and uploads — works in any modern browser, including on your phone.
